This role sits at the intersection of interagency/intergovernmental engagement, policy review, and stakeholder coordination—helping advance National Guard equities across DoD and partner organizations.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities of this role)

  • Review National Guard Bureau (NGB) and Department of Defense (DoD) policies (directives, instructions, issuances, notices, etc.) and other documents requiring NGB comments; conduct analysis and recommend draft comments and a way forward.

  • Draft information papers, executive summaries, and briefs for senior leaders.

  • Coordinate with other NGB joint staff processes on documents and efforts to advance National Guard equities.

  • Attend meetings and workshops with interagency and intergovernmental stakeholders; draft executive summaries and trip reports; incorporate results into follow-on products and updates.

  • Support the processes and procedures by which new SPP partnerships are established, including drafting a criteria framework and grading matrix, and developing briefing slides and memorandums.

  • Maintain engagement continuity by tracking partner points-of-contact, engagement logs, and follow-up actions; develop meeting agendas/read-aheads and align resulting tasks to enterprise tasking workflows as needed.

What You Bring (Qualifications and Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).

  • Experience researching and developing analysis of (or inputs to) joint strategy or policy through information papers, reports, and briefings.

  • Experience supporting and briefing senior military and civilian officials (required).

  • Demonstrated professional oral, written, and analytic skills (required).

  • Experience at National Guard Bureau, Combatant Command, or higher joint staff (preferred).

Preferred Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across interagency and intergovernmental partners.

  • Ability to synthesize meeting outcomes quickly into executive-ready summaries and action tracking.

  • Familiarity with National Capital Region mission tempo and on-site coordination requirements.
