What You’ll Do (Responsibilities of this role)

Develop, promulgate, and implement National Guard Bureau strategy, planning guidance, and policy related to current and future plans.

Provide CNGB with transformational and strategic initiative plans and support.

Prepare National Guard joint strategies, plans, documents, and studies.

Initiate and maintain intergovernmental/interagency coordination.

Advocate and coordinate NGB interface for new concepts and transformational policy.

Provide administrative and operations support to all elements within J-5.

Advise Geographic Combatant Commanders on National Guard matters related to CCMD missions, support planning, and coordination.

Advise Geographic Combatant Commanders on National Guard Homeland Defense activity plans.

Advise Geographic Combatant Commanders regarding DSCA/NGCS responsibilities and National Guard matters pertaining to combatant command missions.

Coordinate with GCCs to support development of operational concepts, capabilities, and plans for domestic operations integrating state National Guard forces.

Support coordination between State Adjutant Generals and GCCs to ensure NG homeland defense activities are integrated and do not conflict with federal missions.

Conduct comprehensive planning with USNORTHCOM for CBRN Response Enterprise forces in the NORTHCOM AOR.

Support planning and coordination for DSCA activities as requested by CJCS or GCCs.

Support interorganizational interaction.
What You Bring (Qualifications and Skills)

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).

10 years of relevant experience.

Strong planning, coordination, and written communication skills suitable for senior-leader products (briefs, plans, and decision-support materials).

Demonstrated ability to work across organizations and stakeholders in a high-tempo environment.
Preferred Skills (optional add-ons, aligned to the responsibilities you listed)

Experience with the National Guard (preferred)/Joint Staff/Services/CCMD

Experience supporting joint planning, homeland defense planning, or DSCA/NGCS planning efforts.

Background coordinating across interagency/intergovernmental partners.

Familiarity with combatant command planning and domestic operations integration.
