Responsibilities of this role

Develop, promulgate and implement National Guard Bureau strategy, planning guidance, and policy related to current and future plans.

Provide CNGB with transformational and strategic initiative plans and support.

Prepare NG joint strategies, plans, documents, and studies.

Initiate and maintain intergovernmental/interagency coordination.

Advocate and provide coordination for NGB interface for all new concepts and transformational policy.

Provide administrative and operations support to all elements within J-5.

Advise Geographical Combatant Commanders of National Guard matters related to CCMD missions, support planning, and coordination.

Advise Geographical Combatant Commanders on National Guard Homeland Defense activity plans.

Advise Geographical Combatant Commanders with defense support of civil authorities (DSCA) / National Guard civil support (NGCS) on responsibilities on National Guard matters pertaining to the combatant command missions.

Coordinate with Geographical Combatant Commanders to support development of operational concepts, capabilities, and plans for domestic operations that integrate the state National Guard forces.

Support coordination between State Adjutant Generals and Geographical Combatant Commanders to ensure National Guard Homeland defense activities are integrated in Geographical Combatant Commanders Homeland defense activity plans and do not conflict with ongoing federal missions.

Conduct comprehensive planning in coordination with United States Northern Command (NORTHCOM) for all Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Response Enterprise forces in the NORTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Support planning and coordination for DSCA activities as requested by CJCS or Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCC).

Support interorganizational interaction.
Qualifications and Skills:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
